in the Age of Disinformation

Directing Reality

Directing Reality

A leader resembles a documentary director. A documentary director does not invent reality - he observes it, chooses what to see, decides what to emphasize, and what to leave out of the frame. He identifies meaningful moments within chaos, connecting them into a narrative. He creates a story that people believe in, move according to, and act from. Organizations work in precisely the same way.

This is where the challenge begins. In an era where strategies become obsolete faster than they can be implemented, the real advantage of organizations no longer lies only in data, technology, or planning - but in their ability to control the narrative that defines their reality. Senior executives today are not only dealing with competition, but with eroding trust, growing complexity, and organizations that are losing internal coherence. This course offers a paradigm shift: learning to see the organization through the "director's eye," to investigate and identify the gap, the narrative that drives it. The course examines how organizations can use documentary thinking as a strategic tool for analyzing, shaping, and leading change. The course combines narrative strategy, tools from the world of research and documentary method, cognitive psychology, and theories of trust (Brand Trust).

Target Audience: Management teams, C-Level, marketing managers, strategy, innovation, corporate communications

Deliverables

  • Narrative Audit

  • Development of a Narrative Strategy Blueprint
